She graduated from medical school in Zagreb in 1997. From 1998 to 2010, she worked at the Department of Emergency Medicine in Split, and passed her specialist exam in 2015. Since then, she has been working dedicatedly as a pediatric surgeon at the Šibenik General Hospital.

Dr. Bogdanić is experienced in performing a large number of surgical procedures in the field of pediatric surgery, such as hernia surgery, phimosis, pilonidal sinus surgery, mole removal, atheroma, lipoma, or ingrown toenail removal in children.

Dr. Željana Bogdanić

Phimosis surgery is a surgical procedure used to treat a condition in which the foreskin (which covers the glans penis) cannot be pulled back. This surgery, known as circumcision, involves removing part or all of the foreskin to expose the glans penis. The goal of the surgery is to improve hygiene, reduce the risk of infection, and facilitate normal urination.

Hernia surgery is a routine surgical procedure performed to repair a bulge of tissue (hernia) that occurs when internal organs push through a weak spot in the abdominal wall. During surgery, the surgeon accesses the hernia, returns the protruding organs to their original position, and then reinforces or repairs the weak spot in the abdominal wall to prevent the hernia from recurring.

Ingrown toenail surgery is a surgical procedure used to treat a painful condition in which the edge of the nail grows into the skin around the nail, causing pain, redness, and possible infection. Ingrown toenail surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia, and patients can expect to recover quickly from the procedure. This procedure provides pain relief and prevents further complications, allowing the child to return to normal activities without discomfort.

Pilonidal sinus surgery is a surgical procedure used to treat inflammation or infection of the pilonidal sinus, which is located in the lower back between the buttocks. This procedure involves opening and cleaning the affected area and surgically draining it. The surgeon may also cut or remove damaged tissue and create an opening to allow fluid to drain from the sinus.
